Meeting the Guardians

There were many who knew that the first guardian was the Man in the Moon, but none of them knew who came next, or last for that matter. However, the moon knows one Sanderson Mansnoozie was the second to become a guardian. The moon told him what to do and the sandman did it without complaint. After all, he was the guardian of dreams.

Sanderson had many adventures as a protector and along the way had met the soon-to-be guardians.

Toothania was the first one he met. She was a hybrid of a human and a bird. He had found her one night badly injured as she held a bag full of teeth. Tooth at first was afraid, but slowly warmed up to him when the sandman let her stay on his island for protection and soon enough they became close friends. As centuries went by and the world became a little safer, Tooth could not stop herself from thanking Sanderson everyday and at one time, pecked his cheek in return for his selfless deed.

~

Nicholas St. North was the second, although he was starting to have a name of his own. Appearing to be in his middle ages, the man was very kind but still had a lot to learn about being a guardian. Their friendship began when Sanderson "accidently" put all the elves to sleep. At this, North laughed whole heartedly as he patted the smaller man on the back. "Oh Sandy, you are very funny man! You and I are going to get along fine!"

Sandy, taking his new given nickname, did not find the humor in any of this. He only put them to sleep because they were being a nuisance. He was never a fan of the elves.

~

Sandy's first meeting with E. Aster Bunnymund, an overconfident and cocky pooka, was an actual accident. When trying to stop one of North's troublemaking elves, Sandy had instead hit the oversized bunny, causing said bunny to miss an hour of his big day as an official guardian. North of course found it funny and never let Bunnymund live it down. Tooth on the other hand, shook her head as she wondered why none of the people she hung out with never acted mature.

It took twenty years until the pooka finally forgave the sandman, but that didn't stop the Easter bunny from being weary whenever Sandy was near.

~

It was peculiar how his meetings with the guardians had all connected them and made them what they are: Wondrous,  hopeful, and memorable. And when he met a boy by the name of Jackson Overland Frost, Sanderson knew the boy will be special.
For the :iconguardian-sandy: 2nd contest. The theme is how Sandy met the other guardians. I hope it will meet the requirements for the contest.

Update: I got 3rd place! -^^-
